Job description

The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) is part of the Global Research Partnership for a Food Secure Future (CGIAR), which is dedicated to transforming food, land and water systems in a climate crisis. The ILRI works in the fields of animal health, climate change and the role of women in agriculture in developing countries. The Impact at Scale program at ILRI is responsible for leading the scaling of ILRI innovations in the livestock sector.  

The integrated expert supports the implementation of an integrative scaling approach for research programs led by ILRI. The expert will contribute to the development of inclusive scaling approaches in the context of regional and global initiatives as well as bilateral projects. This includes supporting research teams and partners to jointly develop inclusive and responsible scaling strategies. The integrated expert is particularly committed to gender-responsive and gender-transformative approaches.

Your tasks
  • Supporting an inclusive scaling approach in ILRI-led bilateral and multilateral projects and programs
  • Contributing to the development of inclusive scaling strategiesPromoting cross-sectoral collaboration between research and development, especially in the area of science-practice interactions
  • Promoting gender-responsive, empowering and transformative approaches in ILRI's innovation and scaling work
  • Contributing to the CGIAR Scaling Community, the CGIAR-GIZ Taskforce on Scaling and other formal and informal networks and groups
Your profile
  • Master in Administrative and Business Sciences, Social Sciences or Agriculture required, a PhD in a relevant field is advantageous
  • At least 10 years of work experience with rural development and social inclusion in an agriculture setting in Africa and/or Asia
  • Demonstrated practical expertise in scaling of innovations and proficiency in working with scaling approaches utilized in the CGIAR (scaling readiness and IPSR framework)
  • Extensive experience in (scaling) project management, stakeholder coordination and adaptive management
  • Strong digital skills in presentation, project management and collaboration tools
  • Livestock related experience is considered a plus
