CARE Germany is seeking a highly motivated Project Controller (m/f/d) to join our team on a full or part-time basis. The position is available at the earliest possible date and is based in Bonn, Germany. The initial contract duration is 2 years, with the option of extension.


ZIEL DER STELLE

In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial and administrative advice and support to program desk officers, interlocutors in our country offices and local partners. As part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling CARE Germany's institutionally and privately funded projects, ensuring high quality financial project management and administration as well as the financial project closure. High quality and timely financial reporting to public and private donors is part of your responsibilities. In addition, you will actively contribute to the strengthening of internal work processes and flows of the team.


IHRE AUFGABEN

  • Review and approval of project budgets, contracts and financial reports with regard to donor regulations and risk minimization
  • Burn rate controls using the internal financial software (ERP) and monitoring tools
  • Providing advice and support to colleagues in Germany and in project countries on compliance and financial matters, this also includes conducting training sessions.
  • Preparation, monitoring and follow-up of audits 
  • Support the interdepartmental project reconciliation within the framework of the annual financial statement
  • Communication and coordination with country offices, local partners and other in-house departments
  • Handling administrative activities such as transfers, filing, keeping the master files up to date
  • Strengthening and development of the internal work processes in your field of expertise


IHR PROFIL / ANFORDERUNGEN

  • Completed study in a relevant subject (economics, law, finance or similar) or comparable education
  • Several years of professional work experience with good business management skills as well as knowledge of financial and/or contract management
  • Knowledge of project management and donor regulations of German and European funding agencies
  • Very good knowledge of English, further foreign language skills are desirable (German, French, Spanish)
  • Solid work experience with financial software systems (ERP) and Excel
  • Strong everyday computer skills (MS Office)
  • Very good organizational skills and structured way of working
  • Flexible, resilient team player with solution-oriented personality and high decision-making competence
