We are looking for you to support our energy and climate department as

Working student (m/f/d) for energy and climate policy with energy sector data and modelling focus (20h/week)

Start date: 1st July 2024

Role and responsibilities

  • Supporting the team of consultants and analysts in the main projects "Low Carbon Ukraine", “German Economic Team” (energy-related policy-advice) and other consulting projects
  • Collecting and working with large energy-related datasets, incl. geospatial data
  • Energy sector modelling using Calliope or PyPSA

What we are looking for

  • Enrolment in a Master’s programme in Economics, Energy Economics, Data Science, or related subject with strong quantitative background
  • Good knowledge of international energy and climate policy issues
  • Strong numerical skills and affinity for data-based work
  • Programming skills (esp. Python) highly desirable
  • Previous experience with geospatial datasets is an advantage
  • Experience in policy consulting/political institutions is an advantage
  • Ability to work in a team, self-reliance, high degree of reliability and accuracy
  • Fluency in English essential, knowledge of German and Ukrainian or Russian is desirable
